The Truth Tour
Tour Objective
In this hour long session your students will be engaged in an intense back and forth conversation about relationships in today’s time. Students will learn important lessons like….
The Risk of Dating too early
What love really means
What a relationship really is
How to recognize abusive behavior
How to escape an abusive relationship
How to fully complete oneself before entering a relationship
One out of every 3 women on your campus has been abused in some way. Abuse is ever present in this day and time, but many teachers and faculty will never know because the victim is often times to embarrass to speak up. Tony Gaskins knows first hand how this works and that is why he was called to tell his story of being a former abuser on the Oprah Winfrey Show. After hearing this very real and captivating story from Mr. Gaskins your student’s, men and women will never be the same! The backing of this tour is Tony Gaskins tell-all book “What Daddy Should Have Told His Little Girl” as seen on the Tyra Banks Show. This book was inspired by a very dysfunctional college relationship that Tony had his sophomore-junior year in college while on a Full Athletic Scholarship. The lessons he learned are lessons that most students never pay attention to until it’s too late. It’s his goal to enlighten and educate your students on relationships and its woes.
The best part about the message is that it’s coming from a 25 year old man. It wasn’t long ago that Mr. Gaskins was a freshmen or sophomore in college, rolling his eyes at everything someone over 30 would try to tell him. So he understands first hand that the time for him to reach college students is now. It’s funny but true that college students will listen to their peers faster than their Professors and Parents. So with that in mind Tony brings a different kind of message than they are use to hearing from someone their age. That is a message of self-worth, self-respect, responsibility, self-completion, and integrity.
You will be witness to several transformations right before your very eyes. A relationship built on lust and lies in the middle of someone’s precious college life could be very dangerous. So we urge you to take action now, and allow Mr. Gaskins to bring an ounce of prevention as it will benefit much more than the pound of cure.
